This Sports Scan took place during August and September 2007 and was undertaken on behalf of the Spirit of BC Community Committee and the Sunshine Coast Regional District. It provides a snap shot of current sports conditions on the Sunshine Coast.

Research was conducted through telephone interviews as well as via internet and print sources. Work for the project was predominately in the collection and consolidation of community and secondary school sports data in three areas:

• Sports organisations
• Sports activities
• Sports facilities

This research provides an overview of the types of sports activity Sunshine Coast residents are engaging in, where the activities are taking place and how many people are participating. It has resulted in a comprehensive sports directory of school programs and community sports groups as well as a complete listing of facilities. (See Full Report)
