On December 11, 2007 the SCYSA Board of Directors presented a dream for Chatelech Secondary School fields with a vision of involving members of the Sunshine Coast being part of the possibilities.

The school board provided  a letter of support in principle in January of 2008. Over the next few months the SCYSA gained insight from community members and conducted an online survey through its membership.
