Dawn Miller’s team building skills are exceptional. She understood each person’s strengths and weaknesses and built the team so that people could work with our strengths, but she also assisted each person in working to improve our weaknesses. Our team worked very well together with Dawn’s guidance and we accomplished many great things.
Dawn Miller leads by example. The work she did while Executive Director of the Innovation Resource Centre still resides in the minds of the people who worked with her. Dawn was viewed as a leader, mentor and colleague to the team, her peers and the entrepreneurs that worked with her.
Dawn’s ability to get to the root of any issue is outstanding. As a direct result of working as part of Dawn Miller’s team I am better prepared for any situation that may occur.

I have known Dawn since 2000 and I think she would be an outstanding MLA. It’s because she’s one of those extraordinary people who can listen to people with an open mind (and more importantly, an open heart), hear the issues, hear the potential, see the big picture, but also see the relationships between all the parts and formulate and then implement a course of action.
Dawn gets the job done and it’s done right; her results meet the needs that the people had in mind the first place. I watched her do this on several occasions over the past years, for example, steadfastly re-building a struggling team into a powerhouse of happy productivity. (Not just productive – happily working and feeling the success.)
Soon after getting to know Dawn, I watched her give a keynote speech and I was struck suddenly by how much she was speaking from the heart, how much she cared about the needs of women, in this case. It inspired me in a way that no other speaker ever has and it has stuck with me for years.
Finally, I have seen Dawn take decisive action in the face of some very difficult circumstances. She stood the course because she understood the people, the situation and the outcomes.
I have no doubt Dawn will be outstanding in service to the Powell River-Sunshine Coast community.
