Dawn Miller has owned two successful business training companies and, since 1996, has been a partner with her husband, Bob, in the the H&R Block tax preparation franchise in Sechelt.
Living on the Sunshine Coast full-time has always been part of their plan. In the summer of 2004 it became a reality when Bob took early retirement from his position as Dean of Business at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George.
Dawn is an active contributor to her community. She was a founding member and the first Chair of the Women’s Enterprise Society of BC and a founding member and the first Chair of the BC Regional Science & Technology Network. Dawn received recognition for her contributions in North Central BC as: - Business Woman of the Year, Prince George - Woman of Distinction – Promotion of Science and Technology - Woman of Distinction – Leadership, BC North & Yukon
Since moving to the Sunshine Coast, Dawn has served as: - Vice-President-South and Communications Chair, BC Liberal Riding Association, Powell River-Sunshine Coast - Committee member, District of Sechelt OCP Review Committee - Application Review Committee, Aspire Self-Employment Program - Advisor, Sunshine Coast Business Retention and Expansion Society - Steering Committee, Sunshine Coast Women’s Dialogue - Steering Committee, Sunshine Coast Women’s Municipal Campaign School - Board Chair, Gibsons United Church - President, Morning Stars Toastmasters Club - Co-Host of Clearly Coastal, a three-hour weekly public radio program - Director, Community Futures
Dawn enjoys participating in community theatre productions and appeared in Puttin' on the Blitz in 2007 and The Choristers' Chaos in 2008.
