to share with the community for an evening of short stories at the Sechelt Library, April 5th. Hosted by The Federation of BC Writers and the Library. Please send your short story (maximum of 1,200 words) to caitlin@caitlinhicks.com. We will host five Sunshine Coast writers and their stories at this FREE event.

The Coast Recital Society seeks applications from Sunshine Coast music students who wish to further their music education. Open to classical music students 25 yrs or younger. Previous winners may reapply.

Not for Profits Looking For Help This Summer? Why Not Hire A Student!
Financial assistance for wages is available; the 2018 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) application period for employers is from December 19, 2017 to February 2, 2018.
 Canada Summer Jobs is a Government of Canada initiative. It provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees to create summer jobs for students between the ages of 15 and 30.

Gibsons Banner Design Call to Artists
Calling all artists!  Submissions are now being accepted for the Gibsons Street Banner Designs.  The designs will be juried and 6 designs will be selected for display in Gibsons.  Application forms with design criteria are available at the Town of Gibsons Municipal Office, 474 S. 2018 Sketching Japan May 6 - 21
With bases at Nara, Marugame, Kubokawaand Hiroshima, this journey offers an opportunity to practice watercolour landscape sketching during the season of rebirth at Japan’s first capital, along a thousand year old Buddhist pilgrimage path, at Shinto shrines, bridges and gardens of historical significance, along a rural beach and at a fishing village. Maximum 7 participants plus Hiroshi.
