 CCA Coffee House

The Artesia Coffee House will be presenting their last coffee house of the season on Friday, May 26th at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt. Opening the night we welcome back Cam Peters, a great young guitarist, singer/songwriter after a year of music studies in the Okanogan. We are also featuring guest artists Lea Kirstein and Reenie Perkovic of 'Citizen Jane' before they return to the east coast after a year of teaching many many fiddle players in our community for the last year. Brian Palmu is our poet this month reading from his new poetry book, 'Sunset Mathematics. To close the evening Susan Ssun of Halfmoon Bay singing from her latest CD 'Singing for the Birds' which has been getting critical acclaim throughout the US. Joining Susan will be Gordon Cole of Some x 6 band on guitar and Pamela Mesner and Karen Davis on vocals.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are $10. Come early for a good seat and enjoy treats by Trish, a slideshow of performers and the current art exhibition.

We now take a break over the summer to enjoy all the other festivals and music activities throughout the Sunshine Coast and we will see you again in the fall.

The Artesia Coffee House is organized by CCA members and is held the last Friday of each month (usually) with 4 25 minute sets of live quality performances. Linda Williams will be booking the performers and handling promotions, Peter Lietz mixes the sound and volunteers will be helping with the setup and front of house. 80% of proceeds go to pay performers & sound tech after expenses.
