 CCA Coffee House

The monthly Artesia Coffee House presented by the Coast Cultural Alliance will be held Friday, Feb 24th at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt. Featured this month is the young fiddle trio 'Gingersnaps and Shortbread' with Erin and Kayla Payne and Cassidy Wieler. Now a resident on the Sunshine Coast, singer / songwriter / composer, Michael Friedman who has performed internationally and a former music director for CBC will take the stage to end the first set. Reading after the break is another new young slam poet, Philip Stagger followed by one of our favourite Jazz duos, Karen Graves, sax/flute/vocals and Budge Schachte on guitar.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are $10. Come early for a good seat and enjoy treats by Trish, a slideshow of performers and the current art exhibition. We now take a break over the summer to enjoy all the other festivals and music activities throughout the Sunshine Coast and we will see you again in the fall.

For an archive of past evenings ... check it out ... you may recognize someone you know.

The Artesia Coffee House is organized by CCA members and is held the last Friday of each month (usually) with 4 25 minute sets of live quality performances. Linda Williams will be booking the performers and handling promotions, Peter Lietz mixes the sound and volunteers will be helping with the setup and front of house. 80% of proceeds go to pay performers & sound tech after expenses.

Anyone wishing to volunteer or perform, contact Linda at 604.740.5825 or
