The last Artesia Coffee House of the 2019 series will be held Friday, May 31st at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt. Opening the night will be the Coast String Fiddlers 2019 seniors group of musicians who have played together much of their young lives lead by Holly Beckmyer. Players include: Anneka Bonser, Julianna Conyers, Victoria Stevenson, Hannah Marincak, Hanna Beyser, Hayleigh Mart, Cassidy Wieler, Kayla and Erin Payne, Grace Thomas, Esmè Wooliams and Lucy Hutchinson.

Next up is John 'Ten Bear' Thompson on acoustic guitar and other instruments that he has modified playing 'folk world improvised' music using electronics in his creations. After the break, author, Betty Baxter will read from newly written works followed by Chris King and Cris Greenwell from Powell River playing original songs that encompass a folky alt-pop fee, along with some jazz-tinged numbers.

Doors open at 7pm, showtime at 8pm and tickets are $10. Come early for a good seat and enjoy treats by Trish, a slideshow of performers over the last 15 years and the current art exhibition in the Doris Crowston Gallery.

Artesia is presented the last Friday of the month January to May.

The Artesia Coffee House is organized by CCA members and is held the last Friday of each month (usually) with 4 25 minute sets of live quality performances. Linda Williams will be booking the performers and handling promotions, Peter Lietz mixes the sound and volunteers will be helping with the setup and front of house. 80% of proceeds go to pay performers & sound tech after expenses.
