Coast Cultural Alliance presents DARE TO BE HEARD, the last Artesia Coffeehouse of the season, until the fall, Friday May 28th at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt. The show promises an eclectic showcase of spoken word, featuring the talent of nine local writers and readers, with host, Richard Austin. Sit back and listen or bring a short piece to read__ if you dare. Readers will include Richard Austin (host), Shelley Harrison Rae, Caitlin Hicks, Nina Haedrich, David Hallstead, June Guerin, Terry Barker, Sheila Weaver and Bertha Clark (AKA Adelene da Soul). Doors open at 7:00 with the show starting at 8:00. Come early, enjoy the beautiful artwork in the Doris Crowston Gallery, delectable treats by Trish and the archival slide show of performance artists and visit with good friends. Tickets are a sliding scale $8 - $10 at the door.

The Artesia Coffee House is organized by CCA members and is held the last Friday of each month (usually) with 4 25 minute sets of live quality performances. Linda Williams will be booking the performers and handling promotions, Peter Lietz mixes the sound and volunteers will be helping with the setup and front of house. 80% of proceeds go to pay performers & sound tech after expenses.
