Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 novel about sex, intrigue and betrayal in pre-revolutionary France, adapted for the stage 200 years by Christopher Hampton, charts the story of former lovers, the Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont, as they compete in games of seduction and revenge. Merteuil incites Valmont to corrupt the innocent Cécile de Volanges before her wedding night but Valmont has targeted the peerlessly virtuous and beautiful Madame de Tourvel. This almost flawless masterpiece (2010 Best Foreign Film Oscar, plus 50 other awards and 39 nominations) tells the story of Benjamin Esposito, a retired federal justice agent, who revisits an old closed case in which he was heavily involved. His intent is to use it as source material for a novel, and find some kind of closure for both the unresolved homicide and his unreciprocated love for his superior, both of which continue to haunt him decades later. Spectacular story, acting, and cinematography, plus a satisfying ending that you are unlikely to forget.

David Suchet as the formidable Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde’s much loved masterpiece directed by Adrian Noble (Amadeus, The King’s Speech, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Wilde’s superb satire on Victorian manners is one of the funniest plays in the English language – the delightful repartee and hilarious piercing of hypocrisy and pomposity will make you laugh out loud. Two bachelor friends, the adorable dandy Algernon Moncrieff (Philip Cumbus – regular player at Shakespeare’s Globe) and the utterly reliable John Worthing J.P., (Downton Abbey’s Michael Benz) lead double lives to court the attentions of the exquisitely desirable Gwendolyn Fairfax (Emily Barber) and Cecily Cardew (Imogen Doel). The gallants must then grapple with the riotous consequences of their deceptions – and with the formidable Lady Bracknell. The Importance Of Being Earnest is considered Oscar Wilde’s best work and has been performed regularly all over the world. The play was first performed on 14 February 1895 at the St. James Theatre, London. Runtime: 2:45, including two 15 min intervals.

This funny, poignant, and stranger-than-fiction true story tells the battle of two men over custody of a mummified human leg. When John Wood fails to make his payments on the storage locker housing his lost limb lodged in a barbecue, a bargain hunter, Shannon Whisnant, snaps up the contents at a North Carolina auction and sees it as a money making tourist attraction. This comic catastrophe engenders a media frenzy that makes it to reality television. Along the way we are treated to an insightful and uplifting -- if oddball -- very human story.
