Come by for pizza and snacks, and join in the conversation about drug use. Whether you use drugs or not, you probably know someone who does. Share your experience and ideas for how to keep each other safe—and bring your questions. Deborah Dykstra (Community Action Team) and Lisa Weitendorf (Youth Outreach Worker) will be there to chat, as well. Following the discussion, Brent Fitzsimmons (Vancouver Coastal Health) will give Naloxone training to those who are interested. Naloxone is a safe, highly effective chemical compound that reverses the effects of opiates such as fentanyl, which can be found in many substances—including cocaine and other stimulants. In other words, if you believe someone may be overdosing on an opiate, an injection of Naloxone can save their life. It takes about 30 minutes to learn how to do it. Information is power and can keep you and your peers safe.

Glenn Close excels in this simmering drama about a highly intelligent, mature beauty — the perfectly devoted wife — who has spent forty years sacrificing her own talent, dreams, and ambitions to support her charismatic husband’s literary career. When he wins the Nobel Prize for Literature and they head to Stockholm, the uneven compromises of their marriage — the infidelities, the excuses, and more — reach a breaking point. By local artists Jessica Silvey & Plumbbob. The woods, the forest, the bush, however you refer to these amazing timberlands we live amongst here on the beautiful west coast, we all have a similar experience when we enter into these moss filled havens: we see the depths of varying shades of green, hear the sounds of streams, birds singing, the rustle of leaves in the wind, smell the earth, moss and nurse tree’s that bring new life, the woods caress us and regenerate us… We want you to see the passion we pour into each piece that we make by hand, these creations that have come “Out of the Woods”.

by Catherine Nicholls & Elizabeth Harris bro·ken . . . damaged or altered, disrupted by change. Imagine a work that lasts for centuries: it ages, it cracks, it may be broken and repaired but the makers vision remains. Imagine what we create now being used, breaking, being mended and repaired, lost and then returned as treasures found. Elizabeth Harris and Catherine Nicholls explore the process of deconstruction in a form of “time travel” with our newly made relics and discover the beauty in the bro·ken. As makers we would be content to see our work live on, in whole or in pieces.
