About Us:
Central Baseball League (CBL) - Previously known as Central Hardball
The CBL was started in 1997 to offer kids from Wilson Creek to Pender Harbour traditional baseball. Our goal was and still is to offer kids ages 5 to 17 a place to develop their baseball skills and learn how to be part of a team in an environment that is both fun and challenging. We are now interducing T-ball to children interested. Games are played from April through June at Connor Park (Halfmoon Bay), Hackett Park (Sechelt) and Whitaker Park (Davis Bay), this year to include Piccadilly Park (West Sechelt) & Kinnikinnick Park (Sechelt). We work together with the Gibsons Minor Baseball League as much as needed so kids on the whole coast can play baseball.
The CBL is a registered member of BC Minor Baseball. Coaches and umpires will receive certified training. All volunteers who work with the kids undergo a criminal records check. We always welcome adult volunteers to coach, umpire, keep score, and organize team and league activities.
If you know of anyone interested in becoming involved in any aspect of this great game, please check the contact us page for contact information.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:
Central Baseball League holds its Annual General Meeting in October each year. All association members - parents and guardians of registered players - are encouraged to attend, participate, and vote. At the AGM the directors will provide reports on the activities of the past year and their plans for the new one. It is also a time for the election of Directors. Nominations for new directors are pursued to provide new perspectives for the Board and greater contact with the teams. Reelected Directors provide continuity. Directors need not be team officials.
CENTRAL BASEBALL LEAGUE NEW HELMET POLICY (2006)
The Central Baseball League will be implementing a new helmet policy for the 2006 baseball season. Starting in the Spring of 2006 all youth registered with the CBL will be required to provide their own approved head protection (helmet). The primary reason for this change is personal hygiene. Following the lead of other major sports organizations such as Hockey, Football, and lacrosse, youth Baseball groups across North America are making efforts to implement policies designed to limit the possible spread of viruses, bacteria and head lice to the children within their organizations.
UNREGISTERED PLAYERS
Remember that only registered players may participate in team games and practices. The purpose is to comply with BC minor ball regulations to ensure that coaches are covered by the insurance policy. If you ever know of a team that has unregistered players please contact the league promptly with full details.

PROBLEM SOLVING PROCEDURE:
Bearing in mind that this is a volunteer organization and everyone is working toward a positive Baseball experience for all players and members, the League recommends that you take the following steps to resolve any conflict or difficult issue that may occur during the baseball season. Please act maturely and respectfully, and try to see both sides. The process by which the League resolves difficulties is as follows: Try to address the issue at the team level with the coaches and manager. Failing a resolution... Discuss your concerns with the division manager and try to solve the problem. Failing that... Contact a member of the League Executive. He/She will review the issue and the previous attempts to resolve it, and will then provide advice on how to proceed. He/She may recommend a resolution or intervene, as appropriate. Having followed this procedure without satisfaction, you may ask the League Executive to address your concerns at its next scheduled meeting by providing a letter that outlines your concerns and the steps taken toward finding a resolution to the problem. They will advise you of their final decision.
