The bark spirits are carved with hand tools and the denser knots carved with small power tools. The carvings vary in size from about 15 cm to 40 cm. Occasionally, I also carve larger pieces on commission.
I find my material where I reside in picturesque Halfmoon Bay, B.C. It is washed up along our beautiful beaches and lying in the coniferous forest also on the mountain plateaus where it has been sun-bleached. Each piece of wood has a hidden spirit which waits to be released. |

This process gives her work a unique finish-one that cannot be duplicated.
