The Sunshine Coast Travel Ambassadors are helpful volunteers who ride the BC Ferries Horsehoe Bay - Langdale run during the tourist season (one week before Easter to one week after Thanksgiving). Their distinctive red shirts identify them as a valuable resource for all travel-related information for the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver. We are recruiting new TA volunteers to help out for the duration of the Olympic Games (February 12-28). The standard commitment is one 4-hour shift per week. Training and shirt/vest provided.

Sunshine Coast ceramic artists are invited to submit work for Ceramics on the Edge 2, a juried show of innovative ceramic work that will be featured in July 2010 in the Doris Crowston Gallery of the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre. Two categories-established artists and emerging artists-will be judged separately, with the best of each category selected for inclusion in the show. The SC Volunteer Centre is excited to announce the Celebration of Excellence – a process and event geared to celebrating the volunteers of the Sunshine Coast.  This is a wonderful way for local societies to profile their organization to the Sunshine Coast. 
Held during National Volunteer Week in April, the Celebration of Excellence grand event is on April 24th, 2010, an evening celebration in honour of Sunshine Coast male and female volunteers.  The Celebration of Excellence is a community oriented recognition program that has evolved from its roots as the strongly supported Awards of Excellence for Sunshine Coast Women first held in 2008.
